Our Approach
Lift’s Leadership and Civic Engagement programs are designed to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become effective leaders and active contributors to their communities. We encourage diverse leaders who can champion our concerns and speak out when our interests are being put aside or ignored by elected officials. Through these programs, Lift aims to cultivate a movement of engaged citizens who are committed to creating a society where everyone can live their lives with dignity, respect, and autonomy.
Advocacy Training
Lift Louisiana trains groups across the state on issues affecting women and girls, while also providing information on the legislative process and how to advocate. This training is designed to equip individuals or groups with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to effectively advocate for meaningful change. Meet Your Legislators
Lift organizes constituents to meet with their legislators to build relationships while also holding them accountable. These connections can be crucial for future advocacy efforts and can lead to ongoing dialogue between constituents and elected representatives. To build a powerful political movement, it’s critical to provide robust training that includes the numerous voices and people who make up Louisiana, ensuring that legislators are truly hearing from the people and not just a secluded, well-funded special interest group.
