One of the most effective ways to influence the policy-making process and build a relationship is to visit with your legislators, or their staff, in person.
Through Lift’s constituent engagement program you will learn, from experienced leaders, community organizers, and policy experts, the essentials of effective advocacy and develop the skills to influence public opinion and advocate for policies that promote reproductive justice. Constituents receive training to learn how to leverage power in a meeting, the importance of knowing who is representing them, and how to have a successful meeting. Lift provides constituents with a toolkit, educational resources, voting records for Louisiana legislators, and ongoing training and support in their process of building relationships with their legislators.
