Women on Wednesdays is creating a network of citizens that are ready, willing, and able to advocate for reproductive justice.
The program
Women on Wednesday is an advocacy program to advance policies for women, girls, and gender-expansive people in Louisiana. Each week, during the Louisiana Legislative Session, we will host groups of advocates at the State Capitol, to learn about proposed legislation, its potential impacts, and ways to influence the legislative process.
The program is designed to facilitate a sustained advocacy presence at the Louisiana State Capitol throughout the Legislative Session.
Women on Wednesday increases awareness of policy proposals and trains people to be effective advocates.
We are aware that going to advocate in Baton Rouge requires a variety of privileges that aren't always available to everyone (e.g., the ability to take off work on a weekday, transportation, childcare, etc.), therefore we offer financial support to participants to address these barriers.
Women on Wednesday is sponsored by Lift Louisiana and 10,000 Women Louisiana
