Women on Wednesdays is creating a network of citizens that are ready, willing and able to advocate for reproductive justice.
The program is designed to facilitate a sustained advocacy presence at the Louisiana State Capitol throughout the Legislative Session. Through these events, advocates learn about proposed legislation, its potential impacts, and ways to influence the legislative process.
During the legislative session, we lead groups of advocates at the State Capitol through a program that includes:
Training on the legislative process
Discussions of various topics related to current legislation
Presentations by state legislators and government officials on policy priorities and the role of advocates in the process
Each week we will focus on a different issue impacting the lives of women, gender-diverse people, and families in our state.
