Beginning January 1, 2023, all licensed hospitals and healthcare providers in Louisiana must provide emergency contraception to victims of a sexually-oriented criminal offense on request. (Act 513 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session)

Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response (STAR) offers non-judgmental, confidential counseling and legal services to individuals and families affected by sexual trauma at no cost. You can reach them 24 hours a day at 1-855-435-STAR.
The Metro Center for Women and Families provides emergency shelter, medical assistance, and legal help for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. They can be reached 24 hours a day at 504-837-5400.
The New Orleans Family Justice Center may also be able to help you. You can reach them 24 hours a day at 504-866-9554.
